Sophomore Brittanie Robinson (Fresno, Calif.) lead the Quinnipiac Bobcats volleyball team this past weekend to their first victory of the season and earned herself a spot on the Bucknell Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Robinson recently transitioned into the role of setter for the Bobcats, and it has paid dividends as they beat Providence 3-2 in a tightly contested matchup. In the match, Robinson led the Bobcats with 37 assists and 13 digs, as well as 4 blocks.
Robinson’s 37 assists were only 4 off the single game program record of 41 set by Kayla Lawler last season
The following day the Bobcats lost to the Fordham Rams 3-1 in which Robinson once again led the Bobcats with her 19 assists and 2 blocks in the game.
Robinson proved her all-around prowess in the final match of the weekend later the same day against the Bucknell Bison in a 3-0 loss. Robinson notched 23 assists, 5 kills and 2 service aces.
She has embraced the role of the setter in full stride as the Bobcats get set to start conference play this weekend.
Quinnipiac will head to Fairleigh Dickinson on the September 22nd for 1 P.M. contest against the Knights before heading to Long Island University to take on the Blackbirds at 1 P.M.
The first home match of the season will be September 29th when the Bobcats host St. Francis (PA) at 1 P.M.
