The women’s soccer team rolled through its first conference wins over the weekend on the quick hands of fifth-year senior goalie Jill Kelley (Simsbury, Conn.). Kelley had a perfect weekend with shutouts against Fairleigh Dickinson and Central Connecticut.
Kelley clinched her fourth and fifth shutouts of the season to propel the Bobcats to 2-0 in conference play. She made three saves in each game for a total of six for the weekend. Kelley also collected her 24th career win in the victory against Central.
Kelley was recently named NEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week as well as College Sports Madness Player of the Week. She currently leads the league in goals against average (.51), save percentage (.867) and shutouts.
The Bobcats will lean on Kelley once again when they travel to LIU Brooklyn this Friday, Sept. 28.
