The nationally ranked No. 20 Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team will host the Buckeyes of Ohio State this upcoming weekend. The Bobcats are coming off a series split against Robert Morris University, while the Buckeyes are coming off their own split against Minnesota Duluth. Last season, these teams split a two game series in Columbus, Ohio, with Quinnipiac’s win sparking an early season five-game winning streak.
Keys to the game:
- The Bobcats will need to shut down sophomore forward tandem Max McCormick and Tanner Fritz. They have combined for four points and 13 shots on the season.
- Quinnipiac also needs the first line of sophomore Matthew Peca (Petawawa, Ontario), and juniors Connor and Kellen Jones (Montrose, B.C.) to contribute and lead the way.
- The Bobcats also need to get going on the power play. They are 0-14 so far this year with the man advantage, and that must change if they want to have success against Ohio State.
