Quinnipiac freshman, Natalie Kosko (Sebastian, Fla.) has earned this week’s QBSN Athlete of the Week honors for her performance in the Tri-State Conference Semifinals against Marist.
Kosko led the offensive charge with three tries in the Bobcats 30-0 victory over the Red Foxes on Senior Day.
Kosko got the Bobcats on the scoreboard just three minutes into the match when she completed a try after the team marched down the field and into the offensive zone. Colleen Doherty (Ashburnham, Mass.) fed Kosko from five yards out for the Bobcats first points of the game.
Seven minutes later, Kosko found a hole in the Marist defense before running over 60 yards down the sideline to put the Bobcats up 10-0.
As well as opening the scoring, Kosko capped the scoring for the Bobcats with her third try of the afternoon. Nancy Dunn (Moscow, Pa.) broke free for a 20-yard run deep in the offensive zone before losing possession, but Kosko was there to pick the ball up and complete the try from a few yards out.
Along with her three tries, Kosko was also strong defensively with five tackles in the game.
Kosko will lead the Bobcats into the Tri-State Conference Championship game on Sunday when the team travels to Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to take on Albany.
