Background
- Quinnipiac will see its first ECAC action this weekend against Colgate and Cornell.
- The Bobcats are currently 3-3-1 in non-conference games, coming off a 2-1 loss to American International.
- The Colgate Raiders are 4-4-1 for the season. Their recent series against Cornell dealt them a loss and a tie.
- Colgate recently defeated Quinnipiac 5-1 at the Cape Cod Classic.
Scouting the Bobcats
- The Bobcats need a win this weekend to recapture the spark that they started their season off with in the win against Maine.
- They have yet to capitalize on any one of their 30 power plays, making it one of their biggest struggles. If they want to win, they need to start taking advantage of these opportunities.
- On the other hand, they are 100 percent on their penalty kill. They need to uphold this tight defense, while providing more offensive pressure.
- Jeremy Langlois (Tempe, Ariz.) leads the team with three goals and three assists, followed by Clay Harvey (Gull Lake, Saskatchewan) with four assists, followed by Matthew Peca (Petawawa, Ontario) with two goals and one assist and Loren Barron (Glendora, Calif.) with one goal and two assists.
- Connor Jones (Montrose, British Columbia) has been missing from the line-up since his last appearance in the Robert Morris series on Oct. 14. This can certainly be taking a toll on the Bobcats and is causing changes in the different lines.
Scouting the Raiders
- Colgate began its conference schedule last weekend against Cornell. They look to redeem themselves after ending the series without a win.
- Similar to the Bobcats they suffer from a poor power play but are tougher on the penalty kill. They are seven for 46 on the power play and 30 for 36 on the penalty kill.
- The Raiders are lead by Tylor Spink who has three goals and six assists, but points come from all over the board. There are only five players who have not contributed a point, and three of those are goalies. Furthermore, their top two point leaders are freshman.
- Despite being close to Quinnipiac in shots on goal, the Raiders have more than double the number of Bobcat goals (30-12). If they bring a stronger offensive force, they could overtake the Bobcats.
