The first seeded Quinnipiac Bobcat’s (10-5-2, 8-1-1 NEC) will host the fourth seeded St. Francis (P.A.) Red Flash (6-7-5, 4-3-3 NEC) in the opening round of the NEC men’s soccer playoffs on Friday after missing the playoffs for the past two years.
Keys to the game
Bobcats
- Stay hot. The Bobcats come into their playoff game on a six game winning streak that they hope will continue throughout postseason play.
- Borja Angotia. The Bobcats’ goalkeeper has been key throughout their recent winning streak. He has allowed only two goals in six games and has had four shutouts over that span.
- It’s now or never. The Bobcat seniors have been a deciding factor throughout the season. The seniors Philip Surprise, William Daniels, Robbie McLarney and William Cavallo have scored 21 of the teams 31 goals this season.
Red Flash
- Revenge. The Red Flash will be playing to avenge a 2-0 loss that the Bobcats handed them earlier in the season.
- Keep shooting. The Red Flash has taken the most shots in the NEC conference this year. The more you shoot, the higher your chances of scoring.
- Stay solid in the NEC. The Red Flash has allowed only 15 in-conference goals this season, which is good for the second fewest in the conference.
