Background
The Quinnipiac Bobcats (9-5-2, 7-1-1 NEC) will be taking on the Farleigh Dickinson Knights (9-4-4, 6-0-3 NEC) today at 1 p.m. The Bobcats currently sit at the top of the NEC conference while the Knights follow close behind in second place. The Bobcats can clinch their first NEC title in program history with either a win or tie, while the Knights need a win to take the conference title back to New Jersey.
Keys to Victory:
Bobcats
- The Bobcats will need to continue their solid defensive performance. Over the past five games, the team has had three shutouts and allowed only two goals.
- A solid offensive performance is a necessity for the Bobcats. A surging Bobcat offense has netted 12 goals in the past five games. Philip Surprise, Robbie McLarney, and William Daniels are all very capable of putting the ball in the net.
- Let the emotions go. After an emotional win on Friday against CCSU, the Bobcats coach, Eric Da Costa will need to get his team focused and ready to play.
Knights
- Keep the streak alive. The Knights come into today’s game with an eight-game unbeaten streak that stretches back to a Sept. 23 loss against Princeton. Over that period, the Knights are 5-0-3.
- Nico Wright, Jack McVey, and Jan Aubert will need to ignite the Knights offense. The trio has combined for 14 of the teams 26 goals.
- Stay patient. The Knights offense has been more effective in the second half this season. They have scored 15 goals in the second half compared to only nine in the first half.
