Goaltender Eric Hartzell (White Bear Lake, Minn.) of the men’s ice hockey team has earned this week’s QBSN Athlete of the Week honors after leading the Bobcats in two road wins last weekend.
Friday night, Hartzell recorded his third shutout of the season by stopping 20 shots in the Bobcats 4-0 victory over the nationally ranked Union Dutchmen.
On Saturday night, Hartzell followed up his shutout of the Dutchmen with a 21 save performance in the teams 3-1 win over Rensselaer.
His performance last weekend also earned him ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week honors. Earlier this week he was also named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Month for his play in November.
For the year, Hartzell is 10-2-2 with a goals against average of 1.41 and a .934 save percentage.
