Junior Shaq Shannon (Philadelphia, Pa.) has earned this week’s QBSN Athlete of the Week honors, after totaling 30 points in Quinnipiac’s last two games.
Shannon went 10-of-19 from behind the arc and completed the stellar all-around performances with 11 rebounds and six helpers. He was the first player to hit nine threes in a two-game span since James Johnson accomplished the feat back in the 2010-11 season with 11.
On Jan. 24, against intra-state rival and NEC foe Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils, Shannon was the difference-maker, as he scored a career-high 18 points, on 6-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc. The shooting guard also added five rebounds and four assists against the Blue Devils.
Against Farleigh Dickinson University on Saturday, Shannon, added his third double-digit performance in five games. He was the only other Bobcat to finish in double figures, scoring 12 points off the bench, as he knocked down three three-pointers. Shannon also compiled six rebounds and two assists.
