After shutting out Brown University 5-0 on Friday, the Quinnipiac women’s hockey team takes on Yale, looking for the weekend sweep. The Bobcats (15-9-2, 9-5-1 ECAC) are also trying to extend their current winning streak to four games. The Bulldogs (4-17-1, 3-11-1 ECAC) come into Hamden after a 3-1 loss at Princeton on Friday.
Keys for Quinnipiac:
The Bobcats need to come out firing and play aggressively like they did last night against Brown. They got on the board early and never looked back. They never gave Brown an opportunity to break out of the zone, which is why they took so many icings.
The Bobcats tired the Bears out early, and when there was an opportunity for the Bears to break into the offensive zone, the Bobcats defense stood them up.
Keys for Yale:
This is a big game for both teams, but the Bulldogs have not had a lot to celebrate this season. But a win against their rivals would be something for them to be very happy about and give them a huge confidence boost to finish out the season in this final month.
The Bulldogs need to establish their intensity off of the opening faceoff and get shots on the Bobcat goal early, showing they are not going to go down without a fight.
