The Quinnipiac men’s lacrosse team (3-1, 0-0 NEC) will play host to in-state rival Hartford (1-3, 0-0 AE) on Saturday at noon. The Bobcats head into Saturday looking to get back on track after losing for the first time in the young season to Providence last time out.
The Hawks dropped their first three contests of the season before pulling out a 15-14 victory at Siena. The Hawks head into Hamden winners of three straight against the Bobcats and hold the advantage all-time 7-6.
Keys to the Game:
The Bobcat’s offense needs to continue to click. Michael Sagl, Basil Kostaras, and Dylan Webster need to continue their strong starts to the season offensively. Sagl leads the team with nine goals and 10 assists, good for 19 points while Kostaras and Webster have chipped in seven and five goals respectively. These three need to factor into the offense on Saturday if the Bobcats want to get back to their early season winning ways.
The Hawks need to keep the game close in Hamden if they want to win their fourth consecutive game against the Bobcats. The Hawks were outscored 41-17 in their three loses of the season. In their last game out the Hawks kept the game close trailing 11-8 at the half before rallying and scoring the game-winning goal with just under four minutes to go in the game. The Hawks could stick around in the game but shouldn’t plan to get into a shootout with the Bobcats given their offensive talent.
