The Bobcats come into the weekend series tied for sixth place in the NEC with a 3-7 overall record, and a 1-2 record in conference. Quinnipiac will look to fight its way up the standings against the Blackbirds of LIU-Brooklyn, who have yet to win a game this season (0-11, 0-4 NEC). The Bobcats aim to get back on the winning track, having only won one game in their last six contests.
Keys to the Game
- Score, Score, Score: All three of the Bobcats’ victories this season have been games where they have tallied double digit goals. The Bobcats are not a team that has been winning low scoring games. For this team to win, it needs to score over 10 goals. Look for the Bobcats to go to their goal scorers early and often.
- Balance the Attack: At the beginning of the season, Coach Caro said the Bobcats attacked would be more balanced then in years pasted. The Bobcats have four players with double-digit goal totals on the season: Sarah Allen, Michaela Tinsley, Kyra Ochwat and Lianne Toomey. If the Bobcats can work in their secondary attackers along with their main scorers, look for LIU-Brooklyn to have a tough time stopping the Bobcats.
- Don’t Look Ahead: With the Blackbirds winless on the season, the Bobcats could be looking to their game on Sunday against Wagner, which would have more of an impact on the Northeast Conference. Quinnipiac can’t underestimate LIU-Brooklyn and fall into a trap game. Both games are critical to the Bobcats playoff chances, so Quinnipiac has to avoid playing down to the level of the Blackbirds. The Bobcats have to play their style against LIU-Brooklyn to come out with the win.
