In both games of the doubleheader on Saturday, the Quinnipiac baseball team gave up two runs in the first inning.
Game one was a close game, with both pitchers going the distance.
Quinnipiac’s Spencer Kane gave up three runs on six hits, while Wagner’s Matt Morris gave up one run on three hits. Chris Migani had two hits and Mike Palladino had one to sum up Quinnipiac’s three hits in game one.
In game two, The Bobcats held a 3-2 lead until the Seahawks had a five-run fifth inning. Wagner was ahead 8-5 going into the final inning, when the Bobcats sent up the top of the order. The Bobcats got the bases loaded and got two runs across to pull within a run of the Seahawks but couldn’t continue the rally.
Wagner’s Mike Adams went six innings before the Bobcats attempted the seventh inning comeback against Anthony Battaglia. The Bobcats started Nick Fabrizio, who could not escape the fifth inning and took the loss. Ryan Walsh and Gary Binkiewicz pitched in relief giving up a combined 3 hits and 2 runs.
The Bobcats’ losing streak has now reached 16 games. The final game of the series is Sunday, April 28 at the Quinnipiac Baseball Field at 1 p.m.
