The Quinnipiac Bobcats’ field hockey goalkeeper Megan Conaboy (Clarks Summit, Pa.) has earned athlete of week honors with her productive week against UMass Lowell, Vermont and St. Joseph’s.
In 21 games this season, she is averaging 2.63 GAA, 56 saves and a .727 save percentage. Conaboy has dominated this week, amassing a 3-0 record with a 0.43 GAA, while recording her first two shutouts. She has only allowed one goal, against UMass Lowell, during the Bobcats three-game winning streak. Conaboy had three stops in the 3-1 win over UMass Lowell.
Conaboy and the Bobcats then faced the Vermont Catamounts where she had a three-save shutout. In the third game against St. Joseph’s, Conaboy had 5 saves in the Bobcats 5-0 shutout win.
She has played a big role this season in the Bobcats’ 4-4 record, and is the first Quinnipiac player since Jenna Grossman to attain two consecutive shutouts. Conaboy and the Bobcats look to continue their winning streak Thursday, Sept. 26 in a non-conference matchup at home with Holy Cross at 4 p.m.
