Quinnipiac freshman Nicole Scola (Westerly, R.I.) has earned this week’s athlete of the week honors. Her program-tying outing at her first career tournament during the Tignanelli Towson Invitational at Towson Golf and Country Club in Phoenix, Md. this week.

She carried the Bobcats to an 11th place finish. Scola shot a 154 (+10) during the invitational, tying Quinnipiac’s record for a two-day tournament. Scola scored a 79 (+6) on Sunday, Sept. 8, and 75 (+3) on Monday, Sept. 9, the second best one-round finish in Quinnipiac history.
Scola parred an impressive 24 of 36 holes in the two-day tournament which was the third highest among the field of over 70. She helped Quinnipiac move from tied for 19th after the first day to 11th after shooting a 35 (-1) on the front nine on Monday.
Scola and the Bobcats will return to the course for the Dartmouth Invitational Sept. 14-15 in Hanover, N.H.
