The Quinnipiac Bobcats baseball team won its first two games in the MAAC in program history this past weekend. They swept the doubleheader against the Jaspers of Manhattan, winning the first game 4-0 and the second game 5-4.
Freshman pitcher Thomas Jankins carried the team to victory in game one. Jankins won his second game of the season throwing a shutout, striking out 10 of the Jaspers’ hitters while only allowing five hits during eight innings of work.
The Bobcats’ record now stands at 4-14. Jankins and the Bobcats look to improve their record traveling to Central Connecticut State on March 27 before hosting Rider for a three-game series this weekend.
