After blanking ECAC rival Colgate last night 5-0, the men’s ice hockey team (4-2-1, 1-0-0 ECAC) looks to finish off this weekend with a win tonight against another ECAC rival in Cornell (0-2-1, 0-1-0 ECAC).
Last season the Bobcats played the Big Red twice and ended the season 1-1 against them. The last time they played was Feb. 21 with the game ending with the Big Red defeating the Bobcats 2-1.
Last night Cornell also played its first ECAC game of the season against Princeton where the team fell to the Tigers 2-1. Patrick McCarron scored the lone goal for the Big Red.
Having played only four games so far this season, no players have stepped out of the yet shadows yet to offensively lead the team.
Last season Brian Ferlin led the team in goals and points with 13 goals and 27 points. He opted out of playing his final season with the Big Red in order to play for the Providence Bruins. The team is still looking for someone to fill his place offensively.
Four different Bobcats scored last night against the Raiders with Sam Anas leading the team with two goals and one assist.
Anas is leading the team with six goals this season. Right behind him is freshman Landon Smith who has five goals on the season.
Smith was named ECAC Rookie of the Week last week after totaling four points last weekend against Northeastern scoring two goals and having two assists.
The team looks to finish the weekend off strong tonight with a win against Cornell.
