In a rare Tuesday afternoon battle, the No. 10 Quinnipiac Bobcats (16-6-5) host the No. 9 Princeton Tigers (13-6-5) in a pivotal Eastern College Athletic Conference match. The game is at an earlier time in the day and week because the Bobcats are hosting students from 10 different schools in the local area.
Quick facts:
– Both teams are likely currently on the outside looking in with regards to the NCAA Tournament, and round out the bottom of the national top ten teams according to the USCHO.com polls.
– Both the Bobcats and the Tigers are tied for fourth in the ECAC right now. Princeton has gotten hot in recent weeks (9-0-2 in its last ten games) while Quinnipiac has posted a paltry 2-2-2 mark in their last six games, all coming in the month of January.
– One of those loses came at the hands of Princeton, a 3-2 defeat in New Jersey that saw Carly Bullock record a natural hat trick with two of those goals coming on the power play. The loss was Bobcats coach Cass Turner’s first loss to the Tigers; Quinnipiac is 1-1-1 against Princeton under Turner.

– Quinnipiac has outshot their opponent 21 times this season, going 16-2-3 when doing so. However, the Bobcats are winless when they are outshot, posting an 0-4-2 record in such situations.
– Princeton superstar Karlie Lund, the ECAC Rookie of the Year last season, has posted a 18-17-35 stat-line in only 22 games, placing her fifth in points and second in goals.
– Princeton may have the future ECAC Rookie of the Year winner as well, as goaltender Steph Neatby has been sensational for the Tigers. She has started all of Princeton’s games in 2017, going 4-0-1 in that span (7-1-1 on the season). Her 1.40 goals against average and .952 save percentage both lead the ECAC as she has guided Princeton to their recent hot streak.
– Don’t forget Kelsey Koelzer; the senior defender was taken with the first overall pick in the 2016 NWHL Draft by the New York Riveters and has shown why this season with 19 points in 22 games.
