In the 22nd episode of Bobcat Breakdown, Britney Bronleben hosts and tries to keep a civil discussion between analysts Andrew Reynolds and Michael Singer.
After the Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team won their first-ever NCAA national championship, Reynolds and Singer tried cramming all of the excitement around the history-making moment into one word. They also talked about what this long-awaited win means for Rand Pecknold’s legacy as a collegiate hockey coach. Reynolds and Singer also talked about the team’s overall performances in the semifinal and championship games against the University of Michigan and the University of Minnesota, respectively.
After the break, Reynolds and Singer continue to discuss the national champions by giving their Mount Rushmore of Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey. Saying that there were some interesting takes is an understatement. The guys also talk about what the tournament win means for the university as a whole.
To close out the show, Matt Mugno is featured for the QBSN Call of the Week after being live in Amalie Arena for Jacob Quillan’s overtime game-winning goal. In final roars, Reynolds talks about the impact of student media down in Tampa, Fla., and how it boosted their careers, while still in college. Singer talks about the buy-in that is commonly discussed with Pecknold’s squad and being able to have a high compete level while not having all the top talent in the country. Bronleben closed out the show talking about her experiences being a first-time hockey fan this year.
