The Quinnipiac Bobcats’ 2024-25 season came to an end in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on March 28. Since then, there has been a good amount of change to the roster. With the portal officially closed, here’s how the Bobcats shape up heading into the offseason.
Who’s out?
Graduate Students:
Travis Treloar: Quinnipiac’s Captain for the 2024-25 season, leaves after two years. Coming in from Ohio State prior to the 2023-24 season, Treloar had 28 goals and 32 assists in 68 games for the blue and gold. Treloar is in final talks to sign with Mora IK in HockeyAllsvenskan, which is in the second tier of Swedish hockey.
Aaron Bohlinger: In his one season in Hamden, Bohlinger had 14 points and 34 blocked shots in 31 games. Bohlinger played top-pair minutes with first-year Elliot Groenewold. Bohlinger missed the last month of the season due to a lower-body injury, which ultimately hurt the Bobcats down the stretch.
Cooper Moore: An assistant captain this year, Moore was a part of an experienced defensive core. Moore contributed 14 points and 35 blocked shots for the Bobcats in 24-25. While Moore was a steady defenseman down the stretch, he had a six-game pointless streak earlier in the year.
Seniors:
Noah Altman: One of the last players from the Bobcats’ 2023 National Champions roster, Altman wrapped up his college career after the loss. Altman finished this season with two saves in three games. A third-string goalie during his tenure, Altman was known for his locker-room presence. Altman entered the transfer portal on Sunday, March 30.
Jack Ricketts: Transferring from Holy Cross, Ricketts provided an offensive spark for the Bobcats. Ricketts arrived as the nation’s leading goal scorer, and added 20 goals and seven assists in 38 games. Ricketts ended the season with an ECAC Best Defensive Forward honor and played on both special teams units, where Quinnipiac ranked third nationally.
Davis Pennington: After transferring from Nebraska-Omaha for the 23-24 season, Pennington had 41 points in 77 games for the Bobcats. A second or third pairing defenseman, he would also play on the second power-play unit. Pennington is one of the four departing defensemen this offseason. Pennington signed with the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL, an affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL, on April 1.
